Myth 1 : Abdominal muscle is different from normal muscle.
Your abdominals are rather like each other muscle in your body. The abdominals are different only in placement and, unlike quads or biceps, they don’t rest on a bony surface.
Hence you need to teach them the same way you would train, say, your biceps or your chest.
The basic laws of physiology have a bearing on all your muscles, including your abs. This suggests you have got to do exercises in the right plane of movement to successfully work the muscles.
Myth 2 : Doing ab exercises disposes of abdominal fat.
There isn’t any such thing as spot reduction. Folks say that if you have fat deposits on your abdominals, exercising the muscles underlying the fat will make it depart.

Myth 3 : You’ve got to train your abs each day.

Instead of working your back each day do them every second day, or even just 3 times per week. They need a quick break like the rest of your body.
The trick’s to train them hard.
Myth 4 : High repetitions are mandatory to make gains.
As you’ve read earlier, abs are just like every other muscle in your body. That implies, you must train your abs the same way as the rest of your muscle collections. To make strength gains with your abs, you have got to overload your muscles.
Myth 5 : If you have got a bad back, training the abs will get worse it.
Training your abs will basically reinforce your back. The opposing muscles in you body always help one another.
Hence if you have puny ab muscles, the load of the work falls on the back. Bolster the abs, then, and your back will get stronger too.
Myth 6 : Anybody can have a washboard stomach.
For many individuals, it’s not physiologically feasible to attain a flat stomach. In many of us the abdominal muscles are engineered to be rather rounded, not flat.
Age, genetics, gender – all of these factors decide the size, shape and appearance of your tummy.
Don’t waste time by falling victim to these six ab folk-tales. Instead, train cleverly as per scientifically based training methods and get tremendous abs.
